Although this blog officially launches next week I wanted to tell those who have Wordpress blogs something I learned recently.
The blog spammers are working overtime right now!
The reason I say this and have made the comment links on this blog “nofollow” links is because of what I’ve experienced the last few days on my blog at susancarrollhome.com.
When I set that blog up I removed the “nofollow” tag for comment links however that’s been changed because I’ve been averaging 20 – 50 spam comments daily on that blog for about a week. Although none of this spam appears since I moderate the comments it does take time to remove them all from the comment moderation file. This is time I could be spending on my business.
So while I do want to allow readers to have comment links seen by the search engines I can’t. I’m open to suggestions on how to get my newsletter readers valid search engine friendly links on this blog. If you have a suggestion please leave a comment because I’ll see it when I moderate the comments on this blog.
If you would like to leave a comment expressing your opinion of spammers please do so. Just remember to keep your language clean since this is a family friendly blog.
To Your Success,
Susan
UPDATE: Thanks to 1 of my nice Twitter followers, Adrian, I was remined to activate the Akismet plugin on my first blog – susancarrollhome.com. Per his advice I did and now that blog and this blog have the nofollow attribute removed for comment links.
Thanks Adrian for your help.

Susan, did you activate your Akismet plugin?
My Ezine Advertising Blog has already 2 years and I have no problem with the spammers. Akismet gets them for me, while the links are do-follow.

Thanks for the comment. I checked and you were right. I hadn’t activated the Akismet plugin on my first Wordpress blog.
I’ve fixed that blog and have put things back in order so that the comment links at susancarrollhome.com and on this blog are no longer nofollow.
