WP Blog Owners – How To Protect Your Content
If you’re a blog owner you’re probably like me and spend some time reading other people’s blogs to get ideas for your own blog.
But do you read the comments on those blogs?
I do because the comments often contain as much information as the article.
Today I was skimming through the comments on an article about unique vs. duplicate content and discovered there are at least 2, free WordPress plugins you can use to protect your content from being copied.
2 Free WP Plugins To Protect Your Content
1. CopyRightPro- prevents the copying of texts and images from your blog and is available in the WordPress plugin directory. According to the commenter this plugin:
Disable right click on your WordPress blog.
Disable selection of text.
Protects from iframes.
Protects from drag and drop images.
2. Blog Protector by PCdrome – disables the text selection & right click operations on your blog. It is not included in the WordPress plugin directory and must be downloaded from the PCdrome site.
In addition to the 2 plugins available to protect blog content which I hadn’t known about, I also learned I had accidentally done something right to protect my blog.
Remember when you created your RSS feed for your blog and you had to choose between using the complete article or a snippet in your feed? Well I hope you used snippet like I did because if you didn’t the scrapers can steal your content through your RSS feed.
Blogs and blog comments are a great way to find and share information. Just make sure that when your information is being shared it’s on your blog.
Please leave your thoughts in a comment below.

Hi Susan,
If people really want to protect their content, Take a look at SiteLok website protection.
It works great and I own it so if you ever have an issue you can just let me know and I will get ya fixed up.
Nobody has ever had issues in the 3 yrs I have been operating it but ya never know.
No need to block Right click access which can easily be avoided using the web developer add-on for firefox anyway and is not a sure-fire solution.
Thanks for the dollarsaver deals, they do come in handy,
All the best,
