How to Get Traffic With Your Email List

“The money is in the list.”

If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard or read that statement I’d have more money than I’d be able to spend. And believe me, I know how to spend money!

The fact is, however, it is a truth statement. And even though some do make money without a list they would make more if they had one.

How can I make such a bold statement?

Easy. When you have a list you have a group of people who have already shown they are interested in what you have to say. So you build a relationship with them and earn their trust by giving good information. And after you’ve established a good relationship with your readers you’ll start getting some good targeted traffic to your site and sales pages.

Now there are 4 tasks you must perform to have a responsive list:

  1. 1.  First you need to build your list. This usually involves giving away a mini-course, report or newsletter from your web site.
  2. 2.  After visitors to your site have “requested” information by joining your list, your emails must be delivered successfully to their inbox. Because spam has become a big issue you’ll want to check your email’s spam rating to make certain it’s in an acceptable range. Most of the better autoresponder services offer this feature however if yours doesn’t you can use the free tool at http://spamcheck.sitesell.com/
  3. 3.  When your subscribers receive your emails you want them to actually open your message and read it. Therefore your “subject line” must be intriguing enough to convince your readers to take a look inside.
  4. 4.  Then after you’ve convinced your subscribers to open your email and read its contents, the only thing left is to get them  to do the desired action of  clicking a link and going somewhere.

So how do you get them to click your link?

To quote from Jimmy D. Brown, the owner of List and Traffic,

“The only way you’ll be able to do this is follow a simple catch phrase I’ve been teaching for years: “useful, but incomplete.”

In other words, your messages must provide content that is useful to your subscribers but it is also “incomplete” in that there is some additional offer that could enhance or maximize that content.

For example, if you wrote about “How to Profit with Autoresponders” that information would be useful to those who are interested in that topic. However it is also “incomplete” because those readers will need an autoresponder service to use the information. That’s why you also provide the link to the autoresponder service you recommend. (Here’s my recommended service.)

In this article I’ve highlighted the basics for getting traffic by emailing your list. To learn more about this topic you can download a free copy of  “6 Keys To Getting More Email Results” by Jimmy D. Brown. Inside this 26 page report you’ll be shown a system that gets more people to read and respond to your email messages.

To Your Success,
Susan
