A New Fix For An Old Problem

You know, those unexpected boxes that popup when you get to, are on or are leaving a webpage.

And of course after so many started appearing on so many websites, the popup blockers and popup stoppers were created.

However this didn’t really stop all the popups because there are ways around popup stoppers.

So while everyone claims to be annoyed by popups you still see them on a lot of sites.

Fortunately, Aweber has now come up with an alternative for those of us who dislike popups and who have refused to use them in the past.

The Aweber alternative to popups is called “Lightbox” and it appears on top of your web page and shades everything else out just like many of those exit popups we’ve all seen. The difference is…

A Lightbox doesn’t automatically appear when your site visitor does something like leaving a web page or hovering their cursor over a certain part of your web page. Instead, the Lightbox only appears when the visitor actually clicks on a button or link.

As I see it there are 2 advantages to using this new Lightbox method:

1. Your visitor doesn’t get annoyed by having an automatic popup appear when they move their mouse over a certain part of the screen. It’s bad enough having exit popups appear when you’re leaving a page. However don’t you get upset when you are reading a webpage, move your cursor to the scroll bar and suddenly the site’s exit popup appears? I sure do. This Lightbox method will fix that problem.
2. Your visitor doesn’t have to leave the page they interested in to see your message and signup form. Before the use of Lightboxes, when a person signed up on your form they

And while Aweber doesn’t create Lightboxes automatically for you they have put the easy to follow 2-step directions on their blog.

Providing this alternative to popups is just 1 more reason I use and highly recommend Aweber.
